She takes pride in building strong client relationships and works collaboratively to develop practical solutions tailored to each client’s unique needs, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and confident at every stage.

Emma advises and represents both employees and employers in a broad range of workplace matters, including wrongful dismissal, human rights complaints, bullying and harassment, contract drafting, and the development of policies and guidelines.

Prior to joining Ascent, Emma practised at one of Vancouver’s largest full-service law firms. She has appeared before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia, as well as before provincial and federal Human Rights Tribunals and the Employment Standards Branch.

Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Emma received her Bachelor of Science in psychology and law, justice, and society from Dalhousie University before relocating to B.C. in 2020. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia. During law school, Emma volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program and Legal Education Outreach, where she developed a strong commitment to advancing access to justice.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys making pottery and exploring B.C.’s natural beauty, spending her summers camping and winters skiing.
