We are pleased to welcome lawyer Sylvia Nicholles to the Ascent team.
Sylvia brings extensive experience advising employers and employees on a wide range of workplace issues. Her practice includes wrongful dismissal, human rights matters, workplace investigations, and work with federally regulated employers, Indigenous organizations, and public sector clients. She also has experience with complex multi-party mediations, systemic human rights complaints, trauma-informed training, and the development and implementation of sexual violence and misconduct policies.
Sylvia is known for her pragmatic, results-focused, and compassionate approach. She is committed to helping her clients navigate workplace challenges with practical solutions and recognizes that many disputes involve relationships that can often be strengthened or repaired through the right approach.
Outside of the office, Sylvia has served as a board member and chair of a non-profit organization dedicated to violence prevention, harm reduction, and safety education. She is also an active member of B.C.’s electronic music community as an event producer and DJ and co-founded a collective that supports and develops local femme and non-binary artists.
Please join us in welcoming Sylvia to the Ascent team. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the knowledge, experience, and perspective she brings to our clients and firm!
